What is a "red flag" and how do I confirm one?

A **red flag** is something in the data that looks broken, missing, or surprising — for example: a 311 category that stopped getting reported, a permit count that dropped 80% overnight, or a neighborhood with zero data when the surrounding ones have a lot.
The Red Flag Watchlist on the main site shows current candidates. Open one, look at the chart, and if you agree the anomaly is real, hit **Confirm**. That awards XP and feeds into the Red Flag Finder badge.
